Leprechaun (1993)

Starring: Jennifer Aniston, Ken Olandt, and Mark Holton

Homicidal Maniac: Warwick Davis as Leprechaun

Run time: 1:31:25

Quick Synopsis: An evil Leprechaun seeks his pot of gold and will dispose of anyone in his way in order to get it.

Let's get this out of the way now, this is not a good horror movie.  Guess what, though?  Nobody cares.  Movies like this are the life blood of a site like this.  If it wasn't for silly and corny shit like this there would not be as much of the same today and without them I
don't get the idea to start reviewing them. To be honest, if Leprechaun was made more recently with the same plot and acting I would probably destroy it.  Fair or not, I won't do it with this film.  Its pure cheese but there is a plot to the film and the acting is entertaining, both intentionally and not.  Warwick Davis is great and his make-up does have some creepiness to it.  The movie was originally supposed to made for children, before they figured out that would work, and that is the only group that will find it scary.  Still there are enough laughs to get you through the movie.  Leprechaun is a classic awful horror movie.

Fun Fact: This was initially going to be a scary movie for kids, but was turned into a more adult-oriented film later on.

Hidden Gem:  The line "Fuck you, Lucky Charms" was an intentional insult towards the cereal brand because the company backed out of a deal and forced a re-shoot of the cereal scene after the movie was finished.
