Review:
Sometimes when you watch a movie you cannot put the proper finger on what you don't like about a movie, but you just come to an understanding that is not a good movie.  While watching you may tell yourself that the acting isn't too bad or I guess that was kinda cool, but in the end all you really are doing is creating a curve based on your initial expectation.  This happen to me while watching Beneath. I know this sounds stupid,
however, it's true.  I guess the best way to put it is that the sum of the parts are greater than the whole.  The cast performs decently, especially the supporting cast which could be considered above average, and there are also some solid scenes that will create fear in a good portion of the audience.  Additionally, there was a good sense of claustrophobia throughout.  I guess my biggest issue was with how everything connected with each other.  The film makers may have just had too many ideas and that caused them to start mish-mashing (kinda like how this review is going) shit together and led to a bland product.  If I explained the ending it would appear to be an acceptable resolution, but somehow this is not the case for someone who actually watched the film.  Beneath is a confusingly (not confusing) awful horror movie.

Fun Fact: Brent Briscoe has played a glorified extra in many movies, including The Dark Knight Rises, The Killer Inside Me, Yes Man, and Mr. Woodcock. His roles in those films included a garbage man, a barber and a homeless man.

Hidden Gem: The rescue worker at the end of the movie is played by Jason Masek, which is the same last name as one of the characters.  Since Masek isn't too common I assume this isn't a coincidence.  I am sure no one reading this cares about what I just said.
