Homicidal Maniac: Nicholas Tucci as Scar Lip
Run time: 1:23:00
Quick Synopsis: A journalist student attempts to find out the identity of a killer who forces his victims to make horrific choice.
There really is little to get excited about in a movie like Choose. From the very beginning I knew that there was going to very little innovation within the film. The films concept of making the victims choose has been done nonstop since the release of Saw, but for some
reason all of these writers think that they are doing something fresh. Even if the concept is not original, a film can still be great if is done well. Unfortunately, there is truly nothing that could be considered to be "done well" in Choose. This films idea of thriving is being just entertaining enough to not get up from the couch to grab the remote from the couch where the person who was watching the movie is now sleeping due to the boredom created by the film. The acting is average at best and the characters are worse. I have never seen a sheriff no sell a possible murder the way Pollak's character does in this movie. I guess Tucci was not too bad as the films villain. He shoots some decent promos. Any possible enjoyment from the film is ruined by the anticlimactic and increasingly silly climax to the film. The climax's awfulness is matched by the final scene which involves one of the most useless horror movie twists ever imagined. No one should Choose (see what I did) to watch this awful horror movie.
Fun Fact: This is Marcus Graves directorial debut.
Hidden Gem: Bruce Dern is still alive.
Homeless Man: You smell good. Like apples. I like apples.
Fiona Wagner: Yeah?
Homeless Man: Yeah...
Fiona Wagner: [punch to his gut] How do you like them apples?
